With funding from Bury VCFA, I managed and delivered a community-led cultural project produced in collaboration with women from Bury’s Hong Kong community.
Working closely with participants, I facilitated the development of the project from initial consultation through to delivery, ensuring that the programme reflected the interests, experiences, and aspirations of the women involved. Through a co-design process, participants identified the activities and cultural experiences they wanted to share with the wider community, resulting in a vibrant celebration of International Women’s Day that showcased creativity, culture, and community spirit.
The event featured an all-female programme of performances and workshops, including music, pastel Nagomi art, and matcha-making sessions, alongside a range of free cultural food experiences such as Korean rice rolls and mochi. The project created opportunities for cultural exchange, community connection, and increased visibility of local women’s voices.
My role encompassed the full project lifecycle, including funding application and bid writing, budget management, stakeholder engagement, programme planning, event production, delivery coordination, and project evaluation.
