Poems in Motion

‘Poems in Motion’ is a project that I created, produced and facilitated as a part of my role at The Proud Trust.

The project worked with young people over 10 sessions to teach them to creatively respond to themes of identity, queerness, and hope through a number of forms, including ‘list poems’, blackout poetry, ‘I am’ poems and Haikus. We then took the images and metaphors in the poems and created a visual story alongside this, and used stop-go animation formats to bring the poems to life into final, animated poetry-videos.

This project successfully allowed young people to express their feelings to one another, Improved their ability to self govern their own mental health and empowered young people to realise their potential and talent as writers.
