Queers of the Neighborhood

I believe that the ability to make old clothes feel new, exciting and representative of your identity is a really important skill, particularly for those who don’t have a lot of money. 

This is why I created and produced this project for LGBTQ+ young people in January 2024 in my role in The Proud Trust. The project entailed young people learning a range of clothes customisation skills, such as embroiding, dying, distressing, and screen printing. Young people were then given a budget to design their own outfit, and run their own sustainable fashion show to share their looks.
